Calgary police are looking for more information from drivers who witnessed a fatal crash in the southwest last month.
Just after 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, investigators say a 2001 Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 25-year-old man, was travelling south on Stoney Trail SW, south of the Bow Trail interchange, when it went off the road, crossed the grass median, and went into the northbound lanes of Stoney Trail SW.
The vehicle rolled and was hit by a 2008 Dodge Calibre, driven by a 25-year-old woman, who was travelling north on Stoney Trail.
The man driving the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle and hit a large overhead directional sign.
He died at the scene.
Police are looking to talk to anyone who may have saw what happened, specifically the drivers of the two light-coloured SUVs and one dark-coloured SUV.
It’s believed the SUVs saw the Toyota cross the median from southbound Stoney Trail SW into the northbound lanes of Stoney Trail SW.
Officers believe these witnesses may have key information that can help advance the investigation.
