Calgary rainfall continues with thunderstorm watch: Environment Canada

The summertime rain in Calgary is expected to continue as Environment Canada issues a thunderstorm watch Monday.
Meteorologists say rain showers of around 10-20 millimetres will end near midnight, along with the risk of a severe thunderstorm.
The watch is issued because Environment Canada says conditions are strong for the development of dangerous thunderstorms capable of “producing strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.”
“When thunder roars, go indoors,” Environment Canada said in a notice. “Large hail can cause significant damage and injury.”
Meanwhile, Environment Canada said thunderstorms developing over the foothills in southern Alberta will move generally eastward, and fog patches may develop overnight into Tuesday.
