Homeowner attacked during break-in in SE Calgary

Calgary police have arrested a person after a break-and-enter in southeast Calgary Wednesday afternoon.

One person is in custody after a homeowner was attacked during a break-and-enter in southeast Calgary on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Erin Woods Blvd SE around 1:30 p.m. for reports of a break-in.

Calgary police (CPS) say a homeowner was attacked by a suspect. A second person who lives in the home intervened and got into a fight with the attacker.

Officers arrived and took a suspect into custody.

Everyone involved sustained minor injuries, according to police.

CPS say more information will be made available once charges have been laid.
