A 22-year-old southern Alberta man is facing multiple charges in the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in a Lethbridge hotel room last spring.
Lethbridge Police say on April 24, 2025, officers were called to assist in the recovery of property from a hotel room on the city’s southside.
When police got there, they found a man with six children — one boy and five girls — ranging in age from 12 to 14, inside the room.
The man, later determined to be 21-years-old at the time, initially lied to police about his age, claiming to be a teenager.
A subsequent investigation revealed the man had met the teens on social media.
After driving them to various locations, he took the group to a hotel room where they were given alcohol. It was there the alleged sexual assault occurred.
During the investigation, officers tried several times to contact the man, later learning he had fled the country.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Monday, Jan. 19, the Lethbridge Police Service were alerted of the man’s return to Canada.
He was arrested at the Vancouver International Airport.
Yuvraaz Singh, of Taber, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invite sexual touching, and obstructing a peace officer.
He is currently in custody in B.C., awaiting a transfer back to Alberta.
