Police seek footage after man shot in SE Calgary

Police are investigating after a man was shot in southeast Calgary early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to a home on Fonda Way SE in the community of Forest Heights at about 2:20 a.m., following reports of gunfire.

When police arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided emergency first aid before the victim was taken to hospital.

He has since been released.

Police say the suspect fled before officers arrived.

Investigators reviewed security footage and believe the victim and suspect walked together from the Franklin LRT Station to Fonda Way prior to the shooting.

Police are asking residents and drivers with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. to contact police at 403‑266‑1234. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
