Power restored after 11,000 Calgary homes impacted by outage

Power has been restored to over 11,000 homes in northeast Calgary after they were affected by an outage early Sunday, Enmax said.

The power company posted on social media site X that the outages are affecting parts of Martindale, Cornerstone, Saddle Ridge, Stoney 3, Saddle Ridge Industrial, Rocky View County, Homestead and Aviation Park.

While it happened around 11 a.m., Enmax said power is being restored as of 12:44 p.m. The notice also said all homes would see power restored by 1:30 p.m.

Enmax responded on X, saying that the cause was “a fault on an underground cable.”
