Vicious assault leaves man “unrecognizable”

Police are still piecing together the details of a weekend assault that left a man’s face mangled.
Cops say they were called to 44th St. S.E. early Sunday morning after a man showed up at a rooming house covered in blood.
A resident says the victim’s girlfriend woke him up in a panic around 2:30 a.m.
James Greene tells The Calgary Sun the man looked like he was in “a horror movie” and his injuries made him “unrecognizable.”
Police have not yet been able to interview the victim.
