Alberta has one of the best selections of wine in the country and it’s thanks the province’s privatized liquor system.
That according to Shelly Boettcher, the writer of a new book called “Uncorked-the Definitive Guide to Alberta’s Best Wines Under $25”.
She tells 660News it’s because liquor stores here are privately owned.
“We are privatized here and get in a tonne of wine, we get in more wines than the rest of Canada and a lot of wines in that $25 and under price point.”
In her book Boettcher offers tips on which wines goes with which occasions and also includes tasting descriptions.
