It’s hard to believe, but it’s just over three months until Christmas.
For many people that means doing, and completing, home renovation projects before the holiday season.
This weekend, the Calgary Home and Design Show is being held at the BMO Centre. Show spokesperson Jill Kivett tells 660News, they have something for everyone, including the guy in your household who’s just seeking refuge.
“We actually have a company down here called New Automations,” says Kivett. “We’ve actually put together a man cave, working with them and a local Calgary designer, to kind of create the ultimate man’s room. Obviously that’s going to involve a lot of high tech wiring and media centres. So that will be really cool to see at the show.”
“We have 350 exhibitors at the show,” adds Kivett. “If you’re looking to renovate your house or you’re looking to maybe build from scratch, or maybe you’re just looking for a day out, we have everything that you need here. We’ve got hardwood flooring, furniture, home decor items, art. We have it all.”
The show also features a variety of seminars, including talks on top design trends and how to pick a contractor.
“We’re going to have The Property Brothers,” notes Kivett, citing an example of a show that takes the stage at 1 p.m. on Saturday. “They are a couple of great guys that are experts when it comes to renovating and selling your home.”
The Calgary Home and Design Show runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and again Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the BMO Centre.
