Calgary EMS are on the job Christmas Day, but crews are hoping for as little action as possible.
In an effort to keep Christmas safe, EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux is sharing some holiday tips.
Brideaux said it’s crucial to keep an eye on the Christmas tree if children are in the room.
“Ornaments that are made of glass, or fragile materials they could knock off, could pose a hazard,” Brideaux said.
He also suggested ornaments that may appear edible, such as candy canes, should be positioned higher on the tree, out of reach from children.
Speaking of food, Brideaux added to be careful with so many pots, pans, as well as hot food and drinks moving around the kitchen.
Calgary EMS also warn holly and mistletoe can be toxic if digested.
