Calgary restaurant and Edmonton Oilers reach deal

An upscale Calgary Italian restaurant says it has settled a dispute with the Edmonton Oilers.

Osteria de Medici contacted media on Friday and alleged that members of the hockey team and their guests refused to pay the full bill for their New Year’s Eve celebration.

The bill for dinner and drinks at the Kensington restaurant totalled almost $17,000.

Maurizio Terrigno, the restaurant’s general manager, isn’t revealing too much about the deal, but he tells 660News the money is being donated to a relief fund for earthquake victims in L’Aquila, Italy.

Terrigno says the Edmonton Oilers will be releasing more details about the agreement on Monday.
