Suspicious death in the southeast

Police are investigating what could be Calgary’s fourth murder of the year.

A man was found on the side of the road in the 2200 block of 17th Street southeast around eight o’clock Monday night according to Duty Inspector Rob Williams.

Williams says it looked like he was in a fight.

He says EMS rushed the man, who was unresponsive, to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Residents in the area say it’s a very quiet part of town and were shocked when they found out what was happening right outside their door.

An autopsy will be performed on the man, who was in his mid-30’s.
