New leaders in Calgary’s bedroom communities

Calgarians aren’t the only ones with a new face at the helm.

Airdrie also has a new mayor.

Incumbent Linda Bruce was dethroned by Peter Brown, who got 47 per cent of the vote.

In Okotoks, Bill Robertson beat out Beth Kish for the city’s top job.  Longtime Mayor Bill McAlpine announced months ago he was retiring.

In Cochrane, Truper McBride was re-elected as mayor, and Chestermere’s Patricia Matthews won by acclamation.
