Condo developer fined for not paying GST

A Calgary condo developer has been hit with a nearly $300,000 fine for not paying G.S.T.
Alnoor Sajan, the sole director of “Seven Sevens Corp.” was given the penalty after pleading guilty in a provincial court.
The accused failed to remit $375,000 to Revenue Canada. He was fined $282,375.
The tax was collected on the sales of units for a condo project he was building.
The Herald reports instead of paying the taxes, he used the cash to pay suppliers and make other investments.
