16th annual Toy Mountain campaign begins

Encana Corporation and The Calgary Police Service have teamed up with Lite-96 to build an enormous toy mountain.

The 16th annual toy drive collects and distributes toys to less fortunate families during the holiday season.

In 2009, nearly 25,000 toys and gift cards were handed out to Calgary families.

Police Chief Rick Hanson says once the bills are paid, many parents struggle to make Christmas special.

He says this program ensures no child will go without a gift this year.

Toy and gift cards can be dropped off at any police district office or station, the Lite-96 offices, Bankers Hall and several other businesses and malls across the city.
