Up to twelve people are out of their homes after an apartment fire downtown evacuated the entire building.
Around 11pm Friday night, a kitchen fire broke out on the top floor of a six story building on 14th Avenue Southwest near First Street.
Firefighters were able to put-out the flames quickly, but not before about 100 thousand dollars in damage was done.
Battalion Chief Frank Nowak tells 660News most residents of the building are back home except for those on the top floor, which experienced heavy damage.
Nowak adds an elderly woman was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation, one mid-30’s male refused treatment, and a small dog was saved from the building as well.
