Man dies in northeast collision

A man is dead after his gravel truck hit a median and street light in the city’s northeast Monday.

Duty Inspector James Hardy tells 660News the 55-year-old man could have been suffering from an underlying medical condition when his truck veered into oncoming traffic on Sunridge Way around 9:55 a.m.

He says the truck hit several objects before coming to a rest.

“The truck and trailer drove over a light standard, which was located on the boulevard. The combination unit then ran over a large advertising sign colliding with a cement base and the unit came to rest with wheels up against the cement base.”

No other vehicles or people were involved in the accident.
