Province gives Alberta Ballet $10,000

The province gave the Alberta Ballet $10,000 after it took its version of the “Nutcracker” to Ottawa last month.

The Alberta Ballet sold out their performances at the National Art Centre.

The Minister of Culture, Lindsay Blackett, tells CTV the group showed the world how talented the province is.

“The people that see Alberta Ballet perform anywhere outside of Alberta are just blown. They didn’t think that a place like Alberta could have that kind of culture and that kind kind of talent.”

Ottawa is the furthest east the Alberta Ballet has ever performed.
