Trial into Regimbald killing begins

An argument over a car borrowed to make drug deals led to the killing of a young Calgary man.
The Crown argued that point Monday during opening remarks in the manslaughter trial of Ryan Charles Everett, who’s accused of stabbing 23-year-old Eric Regimbald in 2006.
Regimbald was involved in the local drug trade and his family was struggling to help him overcome his addiction.
Court heard from several witnesses who said they saw a car speed off from a downtown intersection in Chinatown, where Regimbald’s body was dumped.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
