Alberta car smoking ban urged

The Canadian Cancer Society says Alberta is behind when it comes to protecting kids from cigarette smoke.
Alberta is one of only four provinces and two territories where people are still allowed to smoke in their car if kids are around.
Both of our neighbours, B.C. and Saskatchewan, have banned adult smoking in vehicles if anyone under 18-years-old is inside.
The Canadian Cancer Society is calling for this province to follow suit.
A health ministry spokesperson tells The Calgary Herald individual cities and towns can put in bans if they want, but the province doesn’t have any plans to put in an Alberta-wide ban right now.
