Financial musings from Calgary Millionaire

One of the stars of TV’s Dragon Den says people should pay off high interest debt before they pay themselves.

Calgary father, philanthropist and businessman Brett Wilson tells 660News it appears Canadians are becoming more aware of the dangers of over-extending themselves financially.

Wilson says interest rates are going to remain relatively low for the foreseeable future but they are going to climb over the next 12 to 24 months.

He says people might want to look at consolidation loans and locking their mortgage into a long term fixed rate, something Wilson says he is doing with some of his properties.
