Police identify suspect in kidnapping case.

It’s a scary situation and quite possibly every parent’s worst nightmare.
Police say a 10-year-old Calgary girl was abducted last night from the Deerfoot Mall.
It all began around 6:30 p.m., when she became separated from her father and was approached by a man who claimed to be a police officer.
He accused her of shoplifting and she followed the suspect, but then began to question him and at one point refused to go.
Duty Inspector Quinn Jacques tells 660News that’s when she was picked up and carried into his vehicle.
“Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit is looking for a Caucasian male, approximately 5′ 11″, 170 pounds with blue eyes, brown hair and he may be associated with a green Caravan,” says Jacques.
He has a tattoo of two dragons on his upper arm.
The terrified girl was later released in Airdrie, unharmed.
Jacques says this was only one incident and parents should not be alarmed, but says now may be a good time to talk to kids about what to do in the event they’re separated.
“Certainly not to promote fear, but if they have any questions or are concerned about it engage in that conversation and pass on tips to not get separated from parents and if they are, what to do if they find themselves in that position,” he says.
Police say they are concerned and hope to find anyone who might have witnessed the incident.
Several Canada-wide warrants have now been issued for 43 year-old John Francis Dionne of Linden, Alberta.
The 43 year-old is driving a 1997 green or turquoise coloured dodge caravan with Alberta plate BBT- 2981 however police believe he may have removed the plate from his vehicle.
