Bosses are playing peacekeeper too much

A new survey shows managers spend a lot of time just trying to keep the peace in the workplace.
Getting bogged down in staff conflicts keeps them from getting other tasks done.
The survey by Accountemps shows Canadian managers spend about 16 per cent of their time dealing with employee spats, which adds up to about six hours a week or eight weeks a year.
Accountemp VP Mike Gooley tells 660News, spending too much time playing peacekeeper can signal a bigger problem.
“It may be an issue of teams are getting very tired, overworked and stressed that there isn’t enough support for them in their day-to-day job functions,” says Gooley.
He says it can also mean the manager needs more experience or employees who need to stop running to the boss with something they should be resolving on their own.
