No budget goodies for Alberta

A political scientist at the University of Calgary says she wouldn’t be surprised if Alberta is shut out in Tuesday’s federal budget.
Doreen Barrie says that when looking at the Canadian political landscape, Alberta is not a problem for the governing Tories.
In the last federal vote, the Tories captured 27 of 28 seats in Wildrose country.
Barrie tells 660News with that kind of political support, the Conservatives don’t need to roll out anything to appease Albertans.
She also says Alberta’s economy is rather vibrant, another reason why the federal government can easily overlook our wants and needs.
However, Barrie says there are a couple of things Ottawa could do to help Albertans.
She says they could roll out some job training programs to address the skilled labour shortage and announce more cash for municipalities to address their ongoing funding problems.
