Sportsnet TV and Radio team up to examine what’s being called a Crisis on Ice.
The number of concussions in the NHL this year has doubled and hockey fans are demanding something be done.
This week alone, three NHL players have suffered concussions.
An investigative report examining head shots and concussions in the game will be aired on Rogers Sportsnet, beginning at 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
Hockey Central host Daren Millard tells 660News they have assembled an expert panel to explore everything from the speed of the game and equipment to the long-term effects of concussions and what can be done to reduce head shots.
Immediately following the program, the phone lines at Calgary Sports Radio the Fan960 will open, with Rob Kerr taking calls from hockey fans.
Crisis on Ice also airs tonight at 6:00 p.m. on Citytv.
