New poll puts Harper government in majority territory

Even though the government is likely going down on Friday, the Harper Tories could come back with a majority.
43 per cent of decided voters support the Conservatives, according to an Ipsos Reid poll conducted just this week.
That leaves them three points ahead of where they were two weeks ago – and 19 points ahead of the Liberal opposition.
They sit with 24 per cent of voter support.
Ipsos Reid’s President Darrell Bricker said in an interview Thursday, the problem for the Liberals lies in their efforts to discredit the Tories which are going nowhere.
He adds that the Liberals now find themselves in a dangerous situation.
The poll shows the NDP are backed with 16 per cent of votes, while the Green Party and the Bloc follow with 6 per cent.
A non-confidence vote is scheduled for Friday morning just after 11:00 a.m. Calgary time.
