Dozens of police cruisers surrounded a home at the 600 block of Markerville Road, responding after a woman called saying she was beat up by her boyfriend.
Duty Inspector Rob Williams says they negotiated with the man for about seven hours.
“From about 2:30 am, we’ve been negotiating with the male in the home. Negotiations carried on through the night, we had “tact” teams surround the premise and finally around 9:20 this (Sunday) morning we were able to get the man to surrender out the front safely and taken into custody.”
Police were able to evacuate a young child and a woman, the suspect is facing assault charges.
