Reserved C-Train parking off to rough start

Signs that were too small are being blamed for some frustration at three of the seven C-Train lots where you can reserve a spot.

Some Transit users who paid the $70 a month to hold a spot, drove in to find the reserve area filled with vehicles, whose owners didn’t pay anything.

Transit spokesperson Ron Collins tells 660News, Tuesday should go a little smoother, with a simple solution.

“Tomorrow (Tuesday) we’ll have the big signs up and there will be no excuse for people not seeing a sign and parking in the reserved parking areas. So I think we’ll have a much better day tomorrow. It’s unfortunate today we did have a couple of hiccups on the first day,” says Collins.

A ticket for parking in a reserved spot without paying starts at $40 but the city is giving people who parked illegally on Monday a break.
