Tourism Calgary hopes this smiling face of a four-year-old boy riding the train at Heritage Park will entice more people to visit our city and enjoy some of its more unique attractions.
It’s the first image selected for the organizations regional marketing campaign from its wildly popular “Capture WOW” contest.
Tourism Calgary’s Gisele Danis says nearly half of Calgarians have either friends or family sleeping in their couch at some point each year.
“and so those folks are hosting these people from across the country and around the world and their saying let’s go to the mountains. They’re sending them out of the city! We need them to stay home,” says Danis.
The hope is that capturing these moments in photographs will help Calgarians build a bucket list of things to do in the city when visitors are here.
More than 2,300 submissions came in with a new contest launching on Monday.
