Police in Drumheller have laid animal cruelty charges against a 54-year-old man in relation to the seizure of a number of animals in the East Coulee area last month.
In mid April, RCMP and the ASPCA were called to a large ranch near Drumheller for reports of animals that were dead or dying.
They found more than 300 horses, head of cattle and even several carcasses of animals that had already died.
The seized animals were moved to a rural location near Brooks, where they are under veterinary care.
John Barry Graham faces charges of injury to animals, disobeying a court order, common nuisance, and two counts of causing animals to be in distress.
Graham is scheduled to appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on June 17th.
