New Stanley Cup champion to be crowned

The Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins clash Wednesday night in a game 7 showdown at Rogers Arena on the west coast.

The series is tied at three games each, with the home team winning every game so far.

Canucks forward Daniel Sedin is guaranteeing a victory and a sports book is offering five to one odds that Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo will get the hook.

The voice of Calgary Flames games on Rogers Sportsnet TV, Peter Loubardias, predicts the Canucks will win by one goal.

Vancouver is trying to become the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since 1993, when Montreal won hockey’s biggest prize.

Dean Molberg with Sporstnet Radio the Fan 960 says if the Canucks are going to win, the Sedins have to score, while Luongo needs to stand on his head.

Molberg says the keys to success for the Bruins is playing physical and scoring at least one goal on the power play.

Calgary Sun sports columnist and Jack FM morning co-host Eric Francis says what’s even more interesting than the game is what happens after the contest.

Francis wonders if Canuck fans will riot if their team wins, loses or both.

Fans are paying thousands of dollars to be in the building, with tickets for the game 7 showdown fetching more than for a Superbowl.
