Only two remain in Alberta lottery battle

Only two Albertans are left in a court battle over a 33 million dollar Lotto Max draw back on April 22nd.

According to the Sun, only Edmonton painter Ted Baltoussen and Matt Hayduk remain to see who claims the winning ticket.

Baltoussen claims he purchased two tickets and when he went to a Mac’s store in west Edmonton to check if they were winners, the clerk dropped one of them before scanning them and he believes at that point he may have kept the winning ticket.

An investigator has determined from video footage that the tickets weren’t dropped or switched and that neither was a winner.

Baltoussen testified he feels the video is inconclusive.

He also testified he doesn’t know Hayduk, doesn’t know if the Mac’s store clerk knows him either, and he doesn’t know if the allegedly switched ticket was the winner.

Hayduk, also from Edmonton turned his ticket into the Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s office in St. Albert on April 28th.
