The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got a first hand taste of Calgary tradition Friday morning.
They were the guests of honour for the Stampede Parade.
Will and Kate officially launched the parade from the corner of 6th Ave. and 3rd Street S.E. at around 9 a.m. Friday.
Both Will and Kate were in blues jeans with white cowboy hats. The Duke of Cambridge was wearing a green plaid shirt and Kate was wearing a white blouse by Alice Temperley.
Parade-watchers filled the streets hours early to get a good view of the royal couple.
Prime Minister Harper, Governor General David Johnston and the parade marshal, Rick Hansen were also on hand for the start of the parade.
