Airdrie Regional Air Show takes flight

As the Airdrie Regional Air Show gets set to take flight this weekend, pilots are putting the final touches on their performances and shining up their planes.
The world renowned Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Commonwealth airplanes and air racing planes will fly this weekend as part of the show.
It takes hundreds of hours to practice in preparation for pilots to perform for audiences.
The Snowbirds were in the Calgary area Friday and performed a special flyover for the Stampede.
The Airdrie Regional Air Show takes place Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. and the show starts at 1:00 p.m.
