Stampede’s second last day boasts big lineup

Today marks the second last day of the 2011 Stampede and the schedule has something for everyone.
Grab yer boots ‘n mosey on down to Stampede Park to cram in some last minute Stampede fun.
The big talkers of the agricultural world kick off the day at the Auctioneer Championships at the Big Top building at 11AM.
The ENMAX Ice Show with Canadian Olympians Jamie Salé and David Pelletier glide along the ice at the Stampede Corral with three shows scheduled throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
You can also catch some of the world’s most fearless divers in the High Dive show at the Bell Midway with three shows late in the afternoon.
If the midway isn’t enough for your youngsters, Barney takes to the Coca Cola stage throughout the morning and into the afternoon and Splash ‘n’ Boots has three shows scheduled on the Buckaroo Stage in the Big Four Building.
20 of the world’s top competitors in the six major rodeo events take to the Grandstand at 1:30pm bucking for a share of the $2 million prize money.
The Grandstand Evening Show at 8pm features the 89th running of the GMC Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races, where nine heats comprised of four wagons and eight outriders, compete for their share of the prize money which totals over $1 million.
You still have time to practice your two step at Nashville North as one of Canada’s hottest new country stars, Jake Matthews takes to the stage at 9pm followed by Edmonton Country Trio, Hey Romeo at 11pm.
Capping off the night on the grounds, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band takes to the Coca Cola stage at 9pm and Katy Perry brings her California Dreams Tour to the Saddledome stage.
