Power prices set to climb

Be prepared for a shock when you get your power bill next month.

Electricity rates are expected to spike about 26 per cent, which means the average household will get zapped for an extra $20 a month.

The Calgary Herald reports power rates will jump because of an increase in demand as our economy recovers, because main transmission lines between B.C. and Alberta will be down for 10 days at the end of August.
