Calgary actress up for Gemini Award

It’ll be the battle of Alberta at the Gemini Awards this year in the best actress category.
Calgarian Michelle Thrush is nominated for her work in the APTN drama, Blackstone.
Jasper-born Erin Karpluk is also in contention for her lead role in CBC’s, Being Erica.
Thrush, who grew up in Calgary and went to Bowness High School, plays an alcoholic and troubled mother in the show about life on a corrupted native reserve.
