Five people are shaken up but not injured after a helicopter crash Friday morning.
It happened while the aircraft was attempting to land at a forestry fire base north of the community of Coleman.
Constable Dale Bereza with the RCMP tells 660News by the time crews arrived the passengers and the pilot had managed to get the chopper up right after the craft landed on its side.
“There was no fire. In fact, we didn’t have any fluids leaking from the helicopter. They were able to push it up-right. When we arrived the helicopter was on its landing gear,” he said.
The pilot and four Alberta Forestry employees were examined and immediately released.
The Transportation Safety Board and Occupational Health and Safety are conducting an investigation.
