Wanted man: Manitoba murder suspect may be headed west

Mounties say a man charged with murdering a Manitoba woman was seen at a Saskatoon hospital, Thursday night.
Sergeant Line Karpish says 51-year-old Russell Gordon McDiarmid may be travelling in a stolen 2006 grey Ford Ranger pickup truck.
“We do suspect that he may be armed and we do consider him dangerous as such,” says Sergeant Karpish. “We urge the public if they do see him, or they spot the truck that he may be in, to contact their local police department. Please do not approach him.”
She says police aren’t releasing details on what McDiarmid was doing at the Saskatoon hospital.
“That’s quite significant for us,” says Sergeant Karpish. “It certainly leads us to believe that perhaps we are right in assuming that he’s at least on the move and potentially travelling to B.C.”
The body of 33-year old Nancy Swenty was found last week near Poplarfield, Manitoba, after she had been missing for a month.
Karpish says the pair knew each other but were not romantically linked.
While RCMP know McDiarmid has family scattered throughout B.C., they’re not sure where he may be headed.
