Head-on collision kills two near Sylvan Lake

A deadly crash has ended what was a relatively peaceful long weekend on area highways.
Two cars collided head-on along Highway 11, west of Sylvan Lake.
Emergency crews arrived on scene at around 8:00 a.m. Monday morning and found a 28-year-old man dead in the driver’s seat.
A 58-year-old woman in the other vehicle was rushed to hospital in Red Deer where she passed away.
There were no other occupants in either car and no other vehicles were involved.
Police have not identified the victims, but say the man lived in Edmonton and the woman was from Rainbow Lake.
It’s not known what caused the crash, or if alcohol or speed were involved.
