New transit technology coming

Transit users will soon know exactly when their CTrain will arrive, thanks to new electronic signs going on display at platforms.

Although the project’s a few weeks behind schedule, a transit spokeswoman tells The Calgary Herald the system’s in place and they’re testing it now.

Transit’s also setting up data displays for bus arrivals, which should be in place by 2013.

The entire project will cost the city $17-million.
