Satellite police stations face axe

The city’s satellite police stations could be the first to go, with the police service facing budget cuts.
With police looking at having to do with millions of dollars less in the next budget, the Calgary Sun reports, the satellite stations are one area being considered.
The cuts are expected to be front and centre at a meeting of the police commission on Tuesday.
Paul Bowen with the Cedarbrae Community Association tells the Sun, cutting the satellite stations wouldn’t make sense.
He says, with the value of thousands of volunteer hours going toward helping residents and police programs, it gives the service a good bang for the buck.
