Three months before the kidnapping of three-year-old Kienan Hebert, the boy’s accused abductor, Randall Hopley, had been convicted of assaulting a female friend.
The assault conviction followed an attack on the woman outside the Sparwood, B.C. library in mid-April where she was hit in the head three times and pushed to the ground.
The assault conviction is the latest in a long list of legal troubles for Hopley that date back to 1985 for a sexual assault.
It’s unclear what sentence the 46-year-old received for the April assault.
He will appear in court again November 9th on charges laid in the Hebert abduction.
