Pedophile ousted from church

A convicted pedophile is no longer welcome to volunteer at an Airdrie church.
An Airdrie Alliance Church board spokesperson tells The Calgary Sun even when Kenneth Cooke was volunteering there, he wasn’t involved in any programs involving children.
The church says it was unaware of the 77-year-old’s criminal past while he worked in the community food program; it’s only when volunteers apply to work with kids they screen them rigorously.
