Poker players sue online site

A class-action lawsuit has been launched on behalf of possibly thousands of Canadians who may have been cheated out of their winnings by an online poker site.
QMI Agency reports, the lawsuit comes just one day after the site’s license was revoked by British regulators.
The U.S. Justice Department singled out Full Tilt Poker last month, accusing the company of defrauding players in what it called a Ponzi scheme.
Poker players around the world are owed more than $300 million.
The top official at the Channel Islands regulator that licensed troubled Full Tilt Poker to run an online poker business told the Wall Street Journal on Saturday that he became aware the site had major financial problems only after the U.S. government indicted executives and filed charges against the company back in April.
Meantime, a deal with a French business tycoon may be in the works to have him buy the company and its assets.
