Calgary science centre gets a new name

Days before Calgary’s new science centre opens its doors, it’s unveiling a new name: Telus Spark.
The centre says the name signals a new direction after over a decade of planning, as it opens four exhibit galleries: Energy & Innovation, Earth & Sky, Open Studio and Being Human.
The 153,000 square-foot facility opens on Saturday with a full slate of events going through the day, including the opportunity for visitors to take part in a time capsule.
