Pathologist testifies at Paxton torture trial

When Dustin Paxton’s former roommate showed up at a Regina hospital in April of last year he was covered in wounds all over his body.
That is from testimony at Paxton’s torture trial today from a forensic pathologist who reviewed the medical file of the alleged victim.
Dr. Elizabeth Brooks-Lim gave detailed descriptions of the wounds the man presented to doctors at Regina General, including fractures to his jaw, cheeks and vertebrae in his neck.
She also told court the man had dozens of bruises and abrasions, some of which she testified were consistent with being stricken by an object such as a thick wooden ruler.
The doctor was asked by Regina police to review the man’s file after he was treated.
The alleged victim will take the stand early next week.
