Transit adds more reserved parking

City Transit is expanding their reserved parking spots at some LRT lots to address a crunch brought on by their increasing popularity.
Demand for reserved spots has been growing since the program began earlier this year after City Council voted to eliminate the three dollar park-and-ride fee.
Transit Spokesman, Tom Collins, tells the Calgary Sun that people who want to reserve at certain lots have to be on a waiting list.
“If you look at Crowfoot, Shawnessy and Somerset, they’re all full now, there’s no more space.”
Drivers have no need to worry about finding a vacant spot as only 50 percent of stalls can be reserved while the rest remain available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
