Calgary company dealing with possible Listeria contamination

Ginger Beef Corp., which makes pre-cooked Asian foods, is recalling products and cleaning it’s production line in Calgary as it deals with a possible Listeria contamination.

The company says it’s working with retailers in the five provinces from British Columbia to Ontario to pull the affected products from store shelves.

The warning is a precaution after detecting Listeria monocytogenes during a routine monthly inspection.

Ginger Beef Corp. is doing a complete washdown of its entire production line.

It’s also working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to review its operations and ensure food handling safety.

Listeria is a common type of bacteria that can have negative health consequences in some circumstances.
