Homeless renter points finger at the system

A Calgary woman is blaming this country’s red tape for leaving her and her four children homeless.

Sarah Nwosu was evicted from her Saddleridge home this past weekend after her landlord disappeared.

The Nigerian-born mother tells 660News, they are now living in a shelter because the system has abandoned her family.

“Because the way they treated us that very day, it’s brutal,” she tells 660News. “It’s not right.  The police, the judge, the bank, the bailiffs, all of them let us down.”

Nwosu says police and members of the bank forced their way into her home, demanding she leave immediately.

She says she plans to file complaints about how she was treated by both the police and the courts.
